there's a moment of breath-taking clarity when you read a particular sentence/phrase/story that just resonates with your whole being.

the words seem to fly off the page and into your lungs. you breathe them in, and hold them there as realisation and understanding take over. when you've swilled them around in your head, you can't help but marvel at how beautifully and simply the writer has captured the essence of a situation/topic.

it clears your head and feels as if you've breathed in frosty, winter air. it always come out in a rush, but that minty feeling stays in your throat; and the words are all you can think about for the next few minutes.

i love those moments. they drag something out from within me that i'd already known; but didn't know i knew. they put into coherent words, my thoughts that had previously made absolutely no sense. they make me think.

i read for those moments.

ohmygod. i just finished watching skins 2. and i'm damn depressed now. (yesyes, i'm slow. but in my defense, the internet in perth is bloody expensive. haha.)

anyway, seriously. it's the best writing, best cast, best soundtrack, best cinematography, best drama ever. i fell in love with the cast and now they're going to kill everyone off?! :O

okay, it wasn't that great at first. there was a 2 hour delay at the perth int'l airport.

what. the. hell. TWO hours.

nevermind, at least i was going home. but NOOO, the flight had to be one packed with 297508014 secondary school kids. wahlao! damn. fricking. noisy and twitchy! RARRRRR!

whatever.

i couldn't stop grinning from the moment i saw singapore's lights. and i was literally holding my breath as the plane's wheels touched the ground.

end of semester!

so saturday was the Erica Underwood End of Semester party. :) 4 or us from flat 50, went. Misha, Sarah, Amy and I. Annika's in Bali :( (and the other one.. doesn't really live w us anyway. hah.)
