eject, i say!

i watched 'happy together' today on my laptop. the friggin dvd got stuck in the dvd slot and would not come out. drove me into a state of near panic. it was a library dvd, you see.

i tried and tried. restarted.. everything.

then i took a deep breath.

and remembered that my boyfriend is the god of geeks. the one who can fix almost any computer problem. the one who can simply whip out a screwdriver and do some weird thing and your laptop's good as new. seriously. the geek of all geeks.


so. as i had hoped, prayed, wished... he managed to talk me through the process and the dvd's out. :) TA-DAH!

i say hooray for geeky boyfriends!



p.s he can build a computer from scratch. just needs the different parts. (god of geeks, i swear.) hur, :P

hollywood dream factories;

ahh, fred astaire. freddy freddy fred fred.

the classical hollywood age seems to have enraptured me.

a time when the ladies were sophisticated and the men were real gentlemen.

the glamourous golden age of hollywood with its spontaneous tap dancing, choreographed dance numbers and escapist spectacles.

the explosions of colour and music on screen keep me grinning like a fool.

even the gritty, realism used in 'cabaret'. (which is technically of a different age) i just love it.

i might have to start watching more musicals. seriously.

there's this list. and i find it sad that i've only watched 8 out of those 25 musicals. i'm so unaccomplished. :c



and speaking of musicals;

who can forget the 'moulin rouge'. my favourite. the ultimate in flamboyant decadence. and ewan mcgregor is positively edible. :)



damn, i just want to make a musical now.

the perth zoo

so we went to the zoo over the weekend. must say, it was pretty boring.. cos most of the animals were asleep or nowhere to be found. nyeh!





there was a long queue to get in. and luckily we had discount.


that's us all excited when we first stepped in. ok at least i was. the other 2... wore wrong shoes. HAHA!

i love the sky here in perth. it's always so blue.


"week 3 is upon us".. nehneh. and the work is piling up. 3 assignments due next week. omg, cant wait for tuition free week.

and i cant wait to go home. i'm already anticipating it. this sem is flying by.. only 11 more school weeks man! its unbelievable!



1. i've come up with more ways to advertise socks than i thought humanly possible
2. damnit i need someone to cook for me, i'm sick of it
3. no. 2 went and got a dog
4. i think no. 2's moved out!
5. i have a newfound obsession with sock puppets/toys
6. watched 13 movies since i got back
7. the weather's getting nicer and i miss thailand

sem 2, 2008, curtin university.

so semester 2, 2008 is in full swing. week one is over and i'm still trying to get my brain to wake up from its subdued, hazy state of numb nothingness.

all my units are pretty awesome. :) i like.

i've got creative ad design 292, screenwriting for corporate documentary, ads and music videos, and history of screen language. all really fun, hand-on units.

i'll actually get to make a music video for a perth band of my choice, and come up with and execute various ad campaigns. i'm really looking forward to these, even tho' i know i'll totally run out of any creative ideas. rah, but i like a good ad challenge anytime. :)

learning to read film is proving to be cheem, but really enlightening and interesting. i can act all atas and become a film critic soon.

other than school, i've been watching helluva lot of movies. 8 to date. and the number of days i've been back in perth... 8. hahaha! it's great. i've resolved to watch as many as possible. and seeing as how i'm a film student, it only seems right.
anyway, just hoping that i can keep up my grades and do even better this sem. maintain the average and maybe be eligible for honours. hurrr.


the weather is crazy. rains sporadically, heavily.. strong winds and get freezing cold at times. like tomorrow's lowest is 2 deg. :O the last time i encountered temperature below 5 deg was in beijing.

alright, so i'm gonna go continue my homework. did i mention that i'm already swamped and stressed? nyeh! i love my boyfriend!
