the reason
i'll never know
how much it cost
to see my sin
upon the cross
that is why i live
that is why i cry
that is why my heart can not
go on without you
that is why.
i've become jaded. tired of the responsibility.
it's become routine. something that i do just because i'm expected to.
and then last sunday, i was reminded again why i do it.
why i serve, the reason i sacrifice my time and effort.
we all slip a little sometimes, it makes the coming back more of a confirmation.
a louder declaration, a firmer grasp.
i guess i need a gentle reminder once in a while. because the only really important thing tends to slip beneath the rest. and in my hurricane of 'things to do/plan and places to be at what time', it's easy to lose sight.
but i've found the reason again. and the floodlights are on; so i'm not going to forget.
who am i
that the bright and morning star
would care to light my way
i wouldn't be here today, if it were not for Him.
that is why.
